CERTIFICATION COURSE WITH IMBEDDED CERTIFICATION TEST FOR PERSON WORKING ON ENDLESS WINDER MODE TEMPORARY SUSPENDED WORKING PLATFORM (GONDOLA)

Introduction

From 1995, in response to the introduction of the requirement of competent workers on Gondolas stipulated under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Suspended Working Platform) Regulation by the Labour Department, the Construction Industry Council (previously the C-I-T-A) Trade Testing Centre has been conducting the Certification Course for Gondola.

Format of Certification Course, Test format and Test Fee

The Certification Test is divided into three parts :

Part 1 - A Theoretical and Practical Training
To enhance and consolidate the candidates' knowledge about Gondola and its safe operation.
Part 2 - A Written Test
To test the candidates' general knowledge on a gondola's functions and operation, with emphasis on machine operation and safety.
Part 3 - A Practical Test
To test the candidates' skill and effectiveness in operating the Gondola safely.

Candidate must take all three parts of the course in the specified period.

1 Certification Course for Operator of endless winder mode temporary suspended working platform (Gondola) Two-day $800 #
2 Re-validation Course for Operator of endless winder mode temporary suspended working platform (Gondola)(commenced in 2000) One-day $400 #
Anticipated Trade Test Waiting Time
* Waiting time would be around one to two months approximately
# Waiting time would be around three to four months approximately
@ Waiting time would be around five to six months approximately
& Waiting time would be more than six months approximately
