Intermediate Tradesman Collaborative Training Scheme (Skills Enhancement Courses)

To alleviate semi-skilled manpower shortage in construction industry, with the support of Development Bureau, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) launches the "Intermediate Tradesman Collaborative Training Scheme (Skills Enhancement Courses)" to train up registered general workers to become semi-skilled workers.

This course is open for application by eligible registered general workers. For those who are interested should apply at the training bodies offering the courses under this Scheme. Courses are tuition-free. Trainees who has fulfilled requirement for attendance rate will be awarded a bonus of HK$4,000. Trainees who succeed in obtaining the Intermediate Trade Test qualification and registering as registered semi-skilled workers of the relevant trade under the “Construction Workers Registration Ordinance” will be awarded a bonus of HK$10,000.

Length of Training

50 hours (including both classroom and workshop trainings)

Trainee Eligibility

(i) Registered general workers;

(ii) At least 1 year relevant working experience (verified by the training bodies);

(iii) For those who have not registered as registered semi-skilled workers or registered skilled workers of any trade under Construction Workers Registration Ordinance; and

(iv) For those who have not taken the courses of relevant trades offered or funded by the CIC and HKIC over one year prior to application.
