In the coming decade, driven by the commencement of the large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the Northern Metropolis, Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands, Light Public Housing and various transportation constructions, the total construction volume of Hong Kong's construction industry will soar to HK$300 billion a year, offering abundant job opportunities and promising career prospect for aspiring young individuals. The council will continue to fortify collaborations with the government in strengthening local manpower training, promote industrywide adoptions of innovative technology through subsidies, and facilitating the importation of specialised talents, employing a multi-faceted approach to address future manpower demands.
