Construction Industry Resource Centre Opening Ceremony cum Construction JobsNet Opening Ceremony was concluded successfully on 23 February. The centre has been fully supported by industry players, trade bodies and the government of the HKSAR with overwhelming response to the ceremony. The Formal Secretary for Development – Mrs. Carrie Lam, CIC Chairman – Mr. Lee Shing-See, CIC Executive Director – Mr. Christopher To and CIC Training & Development Director – Mr. Charles Wong kicked off the ceremony.

A catwalk show featuring the latest outfits of construction workers was conducted on the stage. VIP guests were escorted to visit 9 thematic zones of the Resource Centre including ‘Multi-media’ –a gallery fitted with a gigantic screen composed of 16 LED displays where its touchscreen design showcases major construction projects and landmarks across Victoria Harbour over the past decade; and also the “Career Booth” where a worker submitted a job application via the newly launched “Construction JobsNet” and had successfully made an appointment with the employer. At the end, Mrs Lam also talked with the trainees and asked about their training details.

There was over hundreds of industry players, secondary school teachers and students attended the ceremony to create a lively and unparalleled ambience for opening of the centre.
