2025 Construction Youth Exchange Programme in Greater Bay Area

Event Introduction

The Construction Industry Council established the "Construction Industry Council Youth Affairs Committee" (CICYAC) at the end of 2022 to set the future direction for the development of young people in Hong Kong's construction industry.

CICYAC organizes various activities for young people in the construction industry, allowing them to showcase their talents, enhance their competitiveness, and cultivate them into a new generation of visionary, creative, responsible, and positive-thinking construction professionals in Hong Kong.

CICYAC successfully held the " Construction Youth Exchange Programme in Greater Bay Area " in 2023 and 2024, receiving positive feedback from participants who stated that the programme broadened their horizons, deepened their understanding of the Greater Bay Area and the construction industry, and provided other benefits such as expanding their social networks, improving social skills, and personal growth.

In light of the success of the past two years, CICYAC will continue to organise the exchange programme during the summer of 2025 for high school students (Form 3 to Form 6) and young construction professionals, aiming for two-way exchanges. In addition to arranging visits for Hong Kong students and young professionals to the Greater Bay Area, CICYAC will also negotiate with schools in the Greater Bay Area to invite mainland students to Hong Kong for exchanges.

Event Details

Dates:

• (Mainland itinerary) 23-26 July 2025 (Wednesday to Saturday)
• (Hong Kong itinerary) 27 July-1 August 2025 (Sunday to Friday morning)
• Participants must attend all activities in both the Hong Kong and Mainland itinerariesDuration: 10 days (6 days 5 nights in Hong Kong + 4 days and 3 nights in Mainland)

Locations: Hong Kong and Guangzhou

Itinerary:

• (Mainland itinerary) Mainland construction organisations, Mainland university (academic exchanges), and local attractions
• (Hong Kong itinerary) Hong Kong construction organisations, Tseung Kwan O Water Treatment Works, Building Information Modeling Classroom, and Centre for Future Construction

Target: Form 3 to Form 6 full-time students in Hong Kong

Quota: 30 spaces (Selected and decided by CICYAC, not on a first-come-first-served basis)

Fee: Upon acceptance, deposit of HKD 500 (payable by cheque) is required. The deposit will be refunded after completing all activities

3. The list of accepted participants will be notified via email by 28 May 2025 (Wednesday) or earlier.
4. Accepted participants must pay the deposit by 6 June 2025 (Friday) or will be considered to have forfeited their place, which will be filled by participants on the waiting list.
5. CICYAC reserves the right to make the final decision on acceptance.
