The "CIC BIM Competition 2025" organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) has successfully concluded, with the award ceremony took place at the Centre for Future Construction (CFC) on 7 June 2025, witnessing the emergence of construction innovators.

The "CIC BIM Competition" was first held in 2019. The competition aims to promote the practical applications of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to higher education students of construction-related disciplines. The seventh edition of the event sees more than 160 students from 11 institutions to participate in, forming teams of 3 to 6 members from at least 2 construction related disciplines. This year, participants were tasked to creatively redesign the existing building of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction - Tai Po Training Ground into a “NextGen Construction Centre” while demonstrating innovative abilities in applying BIM technologies.

After intense competitions, the S&R team of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, emerged as the champion. Their work exhibited a balanced analysis with sustainability considerations, as well as a fruitful proposal with structural and MEP aspects. They are rewarded with an opportunity to participate in oversea events to deepen their understanding on BIM by learning from their counterparts.
