We are pleased to announce that six outstanding Industry young practitioners from different positions in the construction industry have been selected as the Awardees for the Construction Industry Outstanding Young Person 2023. The Award Programme has been concluded with the presentation ceremony hosted on 16 December 2023.

About CIOYPA

Inaugurated in 2019, the "Construction Industry Outstanding Young Person Award" (CIOYPA) is a biennial Awards Programme that aims to recognise young construction practitioners' efforts in pursuing excellence and making outstanding contributions to the development of the construction industry while creating positive impacts for our community.

CIOYPA returns for its third edition in 2023 and centres around the theme of "Braving to Build Dreams. Venturing to Innovate." to honour the young elites in the construction industry who have demonstrated courage and confidence in building a brighter future while devoted to driving the development of the industry with their innovative minds.

Eligibility

Nominee:	Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident;
	Aged 20 to 40 (Between 1 January 1983 and 1 January 2003);
	Be nominated by one Proposer (individual/ company or organisation); and
	Be able to attend the Initial Screening Interview, Final Judging Interview, Community Service Day and the Awards Presentation Ceremony.
Proposer:	Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident and aged 20 or above; or
	A public/ private organisation registered in Hong Kong.

Judging Panel

The jury is composed of a chief judge, industry leaders and professionals.

Selection Consultant

A third party independent selection consultant will be appointed to support the selection process.

Judging Criteria

Personal achievement of the Nominee, his/her contribution to the development of the construction Industry and the community at large and his / her vision and commitment to Hong Kong.

Selection Procedures

1. Initial Screening Interview

Initial Screening Interview will be arranged in August 2023 (TBC) by the Selection Consultant to verify the information obtained in the nomination form, to examine the eligibility of each Nominee and to shortlist a list of nominees for the final judging interview. All information pertinent to the nominations will be treated confidentially and will not be published unless the Nominee is selected.

2. Final Interview

All shortlisted Nominees will be notified and invited to attend the final judging interview by the Panel of Judges held in September 2023 (TBC).

Award

Awardees will be presented a trophy at the Awards Presentation Ceremony, and will be invited to participate in various construction industry-related events and conferences to promote the sustainable development of the industry and enhance the professional image.

Proposers of the awardees will also receive a trophy in appreciation of their nominations at the Awards Presentation Ceremony.
