In response to the recent challenges faced by the industry in procuring compliant fire‑retardant safety nets, the Construction Industry Council (the CIC) took swift action by assuming responsibility for a one‑off, centralised procurement of these nets. The CIC also oversees the entire production process and adopts technology to track the flow of materials, ensuring that high‑quality and compliant fire‑retardant safety nets are supplied to Hong Kong as quickly as possible. This aims to help affected construction projects regain momentum, safeguarding the lives of the public and construction workers.
