Prof. Thomas HO, along with a delegation, visited Shanghai to explore leading innovation parks and academic institutions, focusing on cutting-edge research and technologies.

Huawei's Liangqiu Lake R&D Centre, spanning 2,400 acres, showcases its latest research achievements in energy, smart homes, and AI. Shanghai Jiao Tong University is renowned for its expertise in talent cultivation and scientific research in AI, contributing to the training of industry professionals. The SMC Shanghai Foundation Model Innovation Centre in the Xuhui District hosts a comprehensive ecosystem covering key areas such as chip design, model algorithms, data sets, and industry applications, supporting the implementation of 43 large-scale models. Pinlan Technology has developed an AI-powered 3D design platform that leverages deep learning of engineering data to generate specialised algorithms, resulting in a tenfold increase in drawing efficiency.

Hong Kong-listed Ming Yuan Cloud Group Holdings Limited designed an Artificial Intelligence of Things (hashtag#AIoT) platform for real estate developers, covering business analysis, project management, marketing, asset management, and property operations. China is dedicated to promoting the development of robotics. The Zhangjiang National and Local Co-built Embodied Artificial Intelligence Robotics Innovation Centre in Shanghai integrates research, incubation of achievements, and talent cultivation to advance robotics research. The training ground supports up to 100 humanoid robots for simultaneous intelligent training, addressing current challenges in scenario testing and data scarcity in research and development.

Ir Prof. HO has also attended the 28th Beijing Essen Welding and Cutting Fair in Shanghai to explore the latest developments in welding and cutting robots, including those by RoboticPlus. AI. We look forward to bringing these innovations to Hong Kong to enhance construction efficiency and lead to digital transformation in the industry.
