A Paediatric and Community Medicine specialist, he is the CEO of Haven of Hope Christian Service, an NGO providing healthcare, education and social services. Under Dr Lam’s leadership, Haven of Hope Christian Service has advocated the “Healthy City” concept since 1997 in the Tseung Kwan O district in Hong Kong. With his extensive knowledge of local public health policies and services, Dr Lam has sat on multiple statutory and advisory bodies. He is a non-official member of the Executive Council of the HKSAR Government and has been a member of the Steering Committee on Primary Healthcare Development of the Health Bureau since 2018. Robert Dijksterhuis is the Dutch Envoy for Sustainable Building, a position created in 2020 after the presentation of the European Green Deal, the ambition to make Europe a climate neutral and sustainable continent in 2050. His focus is on the interaction between the plans of the European Commission on the Green Deal and the Dutch climate policy with regards to the built environment. Previously he was managing the Spatial Policy department at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, where he was among other responsible for urbanization policy, smart cities, finding space for the energy transition and territorial cohesion. Before joining this ministry he was the director for International Development at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Dr. Samuel HK Chui is an environmental engineer (Fellow Member of HKIE) with over 30 years of experience in the field of environmental engineering. He has been responsible for a number of tasks including sewerage infrastructure planning, the Harbour Area Sewage Treatment Scheme, O-PARK, O-PARK2, I-PARK1, and the Review of the Environmental Impact Assessment Process. Dr. Chui is an expert in wastewater treatment and has published over 30 international journal papers with over 1,400 citations, received 5 international awards, and won the Best Ph.D Thesis Award of the University of Hong Kong. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he used his expertise to launch a territory-wide sewage surveillance program that successfully identified over 26,000 COVID cases and broke the chain of transmission. Dr. Chui had also been teaching "Wastewater Treatment and Reuse", a Master of Science course at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, for 20 years.
