The Government is now checking the Employer’s MPF contribution records of the successful applicants of the Employment Support Scheme for the Construction Sector (Casual Employees) (ESSC) for the subsidy period between 1 August 2020 to 31 January 2021 (both days inclusive), so as to ensure the successful applicants have complied with the undertakings of not making their employees redundant and paying the full amount of the subsidy on wages of their “qualified employees” during the subsidy period.
Having considered that some of the successful applicants may have encountered difficulties in making their MPF contributions for their “qualified employees” due to the impact of the COVID-19, the Government has deferred the cut-off dates for making MPF contributions for each individual subsidised months from the 10th day of the following month to the last calendar day of the following month. The details are set out in the table below –
|Cut-off date for making MPF contributions is deferred to:||30 September 2020||31 October 2020||30 November 2020||31 December 2020||31 January 2021||28 February 2021|
We will issue notification to the employers who fail to comply with the relevant undertakings in due course.
As of 19 February 2021, the list of employers with approved ESSC subsidies:
