Reasons for Participating: Since I am still green in this industry, I am still in an exploration stage. I notice to complete the infrastructure and construction projects, it requires a lot of procedures and professionals. I hope throughout continue learning and working hard can help me to strive for a better professional path. I also understand the success of development does not solely rely on minority’s effort, so I hope through my own positive attitude and motivation together with existing working experience, to influence the youngsters through sharing and interaction, to attract them to join the industry.

LI Zhi-chao

Occupation & Position: Welder
Hobbies: Motorbike Riding, Diving, Playing Badminton, Kickboxing
Reasons for Participating: I joined the industry since 18 and graduated from several Construction Industry Council courses.
After I became a practitioner, I have been working hard and studying at the same time. I got recognition from seniors and colleagues throughout years. There are several friends got influenced by me to join the industry. I hope I can help to attract more youngsters to join the industry and to build up the professional image of practitioner.

Reasons for Participating: To share my working and life experiences and present professional image, in order to change the citizen’s perception towards the industry. To attract youngsters to join electrical, mechanical and construction industry.

Hobbies: Playing Basketball, Badminton, Cycling
Reasons for Participating: To encourage youngsters to join the industry through sharing own experience.
I graduated from CIC’s plumbing course in 2011 April. I am now working on the Kai Tak Station’s water supply and drainage works. I am also studying on the side, hope I can encourage youngsters that if they work hard, they will be bright.


CHAN Chi-chun Jeff

Reasons for Participating: Being an engineer, I am passionate in serving the community and helping to improve people’s living standard by participating in the city’s infrastructure, transportation and housing projects. I am very keen to encourage young people like me to join the industry that provides good career prospects and job satifsfaction.


KWAN Ka-lung Karl

Reasons for Participating: I am confident that with my outgoing personality and over 8 years of working experience in Hong Kong construction industry, I am suitable to be an Ambassador. I hope that through this activity, I could help elevate the image of the construction industry by the public that I have been wanting to do. And at the same time further widen my horizon.

Reasons for Participating:
  1. I used to go back to my mother school and do further studies and career sharing, I found out the students and parents do not have much knowledge about the industry. Through this nomination, I wish to share the industry’s stories to more people
  2. I work as an on site Architect recently and manage to work with practitioners from different levels. In which I gained new knowledge and it broaden my horizon. I believe this nomination can enhance the communication within.
  3. There ain’t any architect from Build Up Ambassador Nomination, I wish I could represent my profession, to attend training to become an ambassador in architecture profession.

Reasons for Participating: As a young construction industry practitioner, I think the industry is an excellent platform for youngsters to show their talent and develop their career. I want to use my personal experience to promote and arouse youngsters’ interest in working for the construction industry, in order to attract more talented youngsters to join the construction industry.
