HKIC’s one-year and two-year full-time programmes are designed for secondary school leavers and career changers who wish to pursue a career in the construction industry and become knowledge-based technical professionals. Our programmes are recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework, which is aligned with the Hong Kong education system. HKIC has collaborated with various universities to provide articulation to bachelor’s degree programmes, thus offering a clear progression ladder for students.

HKIC provides different types of full-time Skill Training programmes for helping people who wish to change careers to be registered as Semi-skilled Workers and enter the industry through short-term training. Safety Training

HKIC provides safety training to uphold the mottos of the Construction Industry Council: “Life First, Say No To Danger” and “Everyone is accountable to construction site safety.” Courses include coverage of the Smart Site Safety System (4S) and utilise immersive virtual reality (VR) technology to enhance teaching efficiency in safety awareness, aiming to reduce industrial accidents.

School of Professional Development in Construction

School of Professional Development in Construction (SPDC) aims to become the leading continuing education training institution in the construction industry in Hong Kong and is an important member of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction. Our goal is to offer the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and reliable training programmes to effectively address the industry's changing needs. SPDC now offers over 100 programmes that not only include widely used technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Common Data Environment (CDE) to help professionals update their knowledge but also feature several programmes on Modular Integrated Construction / Multi-trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MiC / MiMEP), allowing industry practitioners to keep up with the latest construction methods. At the same time, SPDC is strongly committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The related programmes will include the CIC Carbon Assessment Tool (CAT) and Smart Waste Management Tools to enhance sustainability in the construction sector.

Signature Annual Programme

The Future Construction Excellence Programme (FCE) is one of the key annual initiatives of the Construction Industry Council. Since its launch in 2024, it has garnered significant praise within the industry. This year, we have strengthened our partnership with Imperial College London and Tsinghua University to enhance the global experience. This programme is specifically designed for senior management professionals in the construction industry, offering flexible scheduling and ample learning space, with the aim of collectively leading and advancing the industry's progress and development.
